Store and account region: check the purchasing account first

Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. If you can’t find Shadowrocket in App Store search, first check the country or region of the Apple ID you use for purchases instead of trying different search terms. Your Apple ID’s country or region determines which store you see; your device’s system language, region setting, and current network location don’t indicate your account’s store region.

To check, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. You may be asked to verify your identity when you open your account details. Check the account shown under Media & Purchases; it may differ from the account at the top of Settings used for other Apple services. Confirm the account first, then check its country or region to avoid searching the wrong purchase history.

ACCOUNT
Check which Apple ID is signed in under Media & Purchases.
REGION
Go to View Account → Country/Region to check your current store region.
PRODUCT
Open the product page using the button on this page, then check the app ID and store details.

Where to change your region—and what to consider

To find the region-change setting, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region → Change Country or Region. This identifies the setting; it doesn’t guarantee that your account can be changed. Account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status, and payment methods may affect the process. Review Apple’s instructions on the page before proceeding.

Don’t treat changing regions as a universal fix for download problems. If you’ve already purchased the app, keep your purchase record and confirm which account made the purchase. If you haven’t purchased it, first consider how changing regions could affect your existing content and payment settings. If you see an account restriction or payment message, follow its instructions rather than repeatedly signing out, changing regions, or paying again before you know the cause.

01 / VERIFY

Verify the app: developer, icon, and app ID

Shadowrocket is sometimes called “Little Rocket” in Chinese, but nicknames and search rankings can’t verify an app’s identity. Search results may include apps with similar names or icons. Open the specific product page and check all three details below. A matching name, similar artwork, or top search placement alone isn’t enough to confirm it’s the right app.

Developer
Shadow Launch Technology Limited
Icon
A white background with a blue-purple outlined rocket, matching the official icon in this site’s header.
App ID
932747118; the product page URL contains id932747118.

Check three details before paying

First, read the developer name on the product page and verify it exactly: Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Next, compare the product page icon with the official icon in this site’s header, including its background and outline. Finally, check the numeric ID in the product page URL. The App Store button on this page always links to the same product, regardless of device type.

If the name looks similar but the developer differs, or the app ID in the URL doesn’t match, stop and return to the correct product page. Screenshots, descriptions, and search terms can look similar; the developer name and numeric ID are clearer ways to verify the app. Once all three checks match, review the price, compatibility, and purchase details shown by the store.

Before confirming payment, check the purchasing account and the amount in your local currency. The store shows the purchase terms for your current storefront; this page’s U.S. reference price doesn’t replace the checkout price. If you’ve purchased the app before but see a price, check your purchase history and signed-in account before assuming you need to buy it again.

02 / IPHONE

iPhone: purchase, first launch, and permissions

On your iPhone, open the App Store using the button on this page. Verify the three details, then follow the App Store prompts to confirm your purchase. Check the compatibility section on the product page for system requirements; don’t rely on your device’s appearance or name alone. Seeing the product page doesn’t mean you can download the app if your device doesn’t meet its requirements.

After confirming payment, let the App Store finish downloading the app. Wait until its icon on your Home Screen is ready to open. If the download remains paused for a long time, check your network, available storage, and any store messages. A successful purchase and a completed download are separate steps: the first appears in your account’s purchase history, while the second is the app’s status on your device. Check each separately so you don’t mistake an interrupted download for a failed payment.

What the VPN configuration prompt means

When you connect for the first time, your device may ask whether to allow a VPN configuration. This permission lets the client establish a system network connection; it doesn’t provide server details. Make sure you’re using Shadowrocket and understand the prompt before following the system instructions to grant permission. If your device is managed by an organization, its policies may prevent the configuration from being added. Check the device management requirements first.

Once the app is installed, import your own existing subscription or server details. Get subscriptions from your service provider; an app purchase doesn’t include connection details. Check that your information is complete before importing, then follow the setup guide to check Home, Global Routing, and the connection toggle. Completing the purchase doesn’t mean a connection is ready to use.

03 / IPAD & COMPATIBILITY

iPad: redownload a purchased app with the same account

Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. After purchasing it with your Apple ID, sign in to the same purchasing account in the iPad App Store, find the app under Purchased, and download it again. You don’t need to buy it separately for these two devices. “Same account” means the store account used for the original order; don’t infer it from the device name or sync status alone.

The iPad’s larger screen and landscape layout differ from the iPhone, so lists and details may move as the window width changes. Look for interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings rather than relying only on a button’s position in a tutorial. Check the App Store page for system requirements. A different landscape layout doesn’t change how to verify the app.

Downloading a purchased app on iPad doesn’t mean your iPhone configuration has synced. After opening the app, check whether the subscriptions, servers, and configuration files you need are there. If not, import your own details again. When moving between devices, check the selected item and Global Routing settings; don’t assume the new device is configured just because the old one was connected.

Compatibility with other Apple devices

The Compatibility section on the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. System requirements, supported devices, and whether the purchase is universal are as listed on the App Store page. To use Shadowrocket on these devices, check the product and purchase status in the App Store on each device. Don’t assume that the iPhone and iPad purchase terms apply to every device.

04 / PURCHASE HISTORY

New device or reinstall: restore your purchase first

After switching devices or deleting the app, start the restore process from your App Store purchase history. Go to App Store → Account → Purchased, search for Shadowrocket, verify the developer and icon, then use the redownload option. Depending on your system, the account page may list apps under Apps or your personal purchase list. Either way, look for apps obtained with the original purchasing account.

If you’re using the same purchasing account, the app is still available, and your device is compatible, you usually won’t have to pay again. If the page shows a price, pause and check which account is signed in, then look for the original order in your purchase history. The account used for other services on your device, the current store account, and the original purchasing account may differ. Check this before restoring.

Restore the app and its configuration separately

Redownloading restores the app and your account’s eligibility to use it. It doesn’t automatically restore subscription links, server details, rules, or personal settings on a new device. Before switching, make sure you can get the details you need again or have saved your configuration using a method supported by the app. Don’t delete a working configuration from your old device until you’ve confirmed you can restore it.

Once the app is installed on your new device, import your own subscription or server details, check the items and selected configuration, then test the connection. Get subscriptions from your service provider. If importing works but the connection fails, troubleshoot the connection settings instead of returning to the App Store to pay again. App purchase status and connection service status are separate.

Check Family Sharing separately

Family Sharing doesn’t automatically carry over another device’s sign-in status. Check the App Store page and your Family Sharing settings for availability and eligibility. If the store page says it’s supported, check the family member’s purchase list for access. If the app isn’t listed, review your Family Sharing group, purchase sharing settings, and store region. Don’t assume every family member’s purchases will automatically appear.

05 / PAYMENT SCOPE

Price and purchase: the app is separate from connection services

Shadowrocket is a paid commercial app sold as a one-time purchase; the app itself isn’t billed monthly. The U.S. reference price is $2.99, while other storefronts show local prices. Check the App Store page for the actual amount. Currency conversion, local taxes, and storefront pricing can vary, so use the checkout page rather than treating the reference price as a guaranteed price in every region.

PAYMENT
One-time purchase, made through the App Store.
PRICE
U.S. reference price: $2.99. Check the App Store page for current pricing.
SERVICE
A one-time app purchase ≠ a connection plan.

What your payment covers

Your payment covers access to the app. To use features such as rule-based routing, importing existing subscriptions, and managing configurations, set them up with your own information. Purchasing the app doesn’t create a subscription or provide server details, and it doesn’t show whether your existing connection service is working. That’s why a purchased app may still be unable to connect.

A one-time app purchase ≠ a connection plan. This site doesn’t provide or sell nodes or subscriptions, or recommend service providers. This page covers getting, purchasing, and restoring the app through the App Store. Get any subscription you need to import from your service provider. If your existing details no longer work, check their status rather than buying the app again.

Updates and follow-up checks

App updates are delivered through the App Store. You can turn on automatic updates in your device settings or check the updates list in your account. If interface labels move after an update, use the English terms in this manual to find them. Check the App Store page for current system requirements and compatibility; this page doesn’t use a fixed version number in place of up-to-date store information.

After purchase, follow this order: make sure the app opens, import your existing details, check the selected configuration, then test the connection. If you see a store message and a connection error at the same time, handle them separately: use the App Store for purchase and download issues, and the app’s specific messages for imports and connections. Noting exactly where the issue occurs makes it easier to find the cause than repeating steps.

PURCHASE QUESTIONS

Shadowrocket download and purchase FAQs

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket in the App Store?

Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China App Store. First check the country or region for the Apple ID used under Media & Purchases, then open the product link on this page to check availability. Your device language and current network location don’t determine your account’s store region. Whether you can change regions depends on your account status and Apple’s requirements.

The product page opens, but the download won’t start. What should I check?

Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection in that order. If you’ve already paid, verify the purchase history before trying again. Keep the error message and follow the account or payment support options provided by the App Store.

Do I have to pay again after getting a new iPhone?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, open Purchased in your App Store account, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. Restoring a purchase restores your eligibility to download the app; it doesn’t automatically restore subscriptions, server details, or configuration.

I bought Shadowrocket for iPhone. Can I use it on iPad too?

Yes. Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. Sign in to the iPad App Store with the Apple ID used for the purchase, then download it again from Purchased. Check the App Store page for system requirements. You’ll still need to import and check your app configuration.

How can I check compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision?

Check the Compatibility section on the same App Store product page. System requirements, supported devices, and whether the purchase is universal for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision are as listed on the App Store page. Get the app through the App Store.

The app interface is in English. How can I follow the official manual?

This manual keeps English interface labels such as Home, Config, Settings, Add Server, and Global Routing, so you can look for those exact names. Check which screen you’re on, then follow the instructions to import your existing information. The interface language doesn’t determine whether an app is genuine.

After purchasing, continue with the setup guide. For store region and account questions, see the App Store access guide.
